thank you sooooo much for this video. I was super overwhelmed about sanding foam until i saw this. Your instructions were very easy to follow. Комментарий от : @Blackspire_Cosplay |
35,000 RPM makes the sanding/cutter HOT ! also pick goggles that have some venting. Eye Glasses fog up QUICKLY ! Great dust collection ! Комментарий от : @RichardKuivila1947 |
I cant believe you make these videos free Комментарий от : @tabycookingstudio8691 |
I know this is 4 years old but my snake always get really hot where i can only use it for a few minutes before the metal spiral becomes too hot does anyone have a solution maybe? Комментарий от : @mopholus5884 |
Vacuuming while sanding EVA is an absolute must. Комментарий от : @CharleyHolland |
I'll be getting a Plastic prop that has some gaps I'll have too fill in so I have a flat surface. Would this work for that or would it be better to just get a sandpaper and sand it by hand instead of using a tool like you did in the video? Комментарий от : @starrynightcos9890 |
PROTIP : dont waste your time or money on paper sanding drums. spend 15-20$ each on a few different grit CARBIDE drums, because they literally last forever, never snapping apart like the dangerous and worthless paper drums. Комментарий от : @FingerinUrDaughter |
This video also demonstrates why cosplay and nail art are my perfectly paired twin hobbies 😊 E-file beats Dremel for tight corner work any day! I have a great dust collector, masks, eye protection, and collection of bits that work great for EVA, acrylic, gel, and resins. Комментарий от : @carish1452 |
I'm sorry you should rename this video, learn to clean your shop, your clothes and everything else because pieces will be everywhere. Комментарий от : @ZenHulk |
What sandpaper grit is the best to use? Комментарий от : @Madarasanklebiter |
I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. www.youtube.com/post/UgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks. Комментарий от : @mohanliyanage6297 |
What do you do if the foam frays a lot? I sand in the direction of the rotary and it still splits the EVA instead of smoothing and I do not know why Комментарий от : @Dana-cg5fo |
I just got a machine like this (the bulky one cause I'm still suffering from financial problems) This video was really useful, Thank you Комментарий от : @WendyGameing |
. . . I don't think the foam in the UK is the same type as this, can't find it anywhere. The EVA i can find here... turns into a ragged, melted mess :/ Комментарий от : @jelly434 |
Needed this little boost of confidence at the end! <3 I'm struggling with my first project and need to remember it takes time to get good at all the techniques, even sanding. Комментарий от : @klsmuddluvr |
I'm wondering how thick this eva is Комментарий от : @elenadubravskaia2850 |
HAHAHA the censor at 3:50 caught me off guard, but in all seriousness, the foam filter is a great idea. Loved the video! Комментарий от : @Lwantscake8 |
I just realized that the tool will spin the other way if you are left handed so I’d have to do all this in reverse….😥 Комментарий от : @SonNeko |
I don't get what de spin speed of the Dremel changes on the material. Can someone help me? Комментарий от : @refinbore5557 |
Do you sell the shop vac "grip" as you call it? Комментарий от : @LOBOCHGO |

My problem is my Dremel is stronger then me even at low settings Комментарий от : @akrimalachai45 |
the tip about corners is EXACTLY what i've been looking for! had a lot of tabs open before finding this lol Комментарий от : @PseudoFanboy |
I've had a Dremel for a few years now but haven't had an actual excuse to use it yet! I'm so glad to see that you can use a Dremel on the eva foam to make textures and pieces Комментарий от : @feralmagick7177 |

Have you seen Kamui's videos with closed captioning turned on? It's hilarious Комментарий от : @NerdXertz |
Really useful thank you. I'm making a plastazote crashpad/dashboard top for a classic car restoration project. Perfect technique for forming foam and the Dremel is genuis. :) Great video. Комментарий от : @dismalfist |

Anyone has a lifehack for sanding air dry ceramic clay without getting dust everywhere? Комментарий от : @MichelleRivail |
Thanks Svetlana, I've been in a creative rut for about 10 years. I got so disheartened with doing anything creative after having my confidence destroyed while doing my art GSCE that I have barely picked up a pencil. I've watched your videos and bought your books and I have just passed the planning stage of a cosplay I really want to do, onward to foam sanding next! 🥰 Комментарий от : @sophiewills9229 |
Does the Dremel Light work as well just like 4000? Комментарий от : @MariaRivera-rl9wj |
Please help, im left-handed and cant use the thing precise enough in my right hand. But now the dremmel spinns in my direction and sanding eva becomes a nightmare. Комментарий от : @pockpock6382 |

Wonderful video, I've been dremmeling against the direction the whole time. Комментарий от : @Johnrchildsii |
Thank you for the video. I had a dremel for a long time. I did had some issues with it on the foam getting those rough edges. I tried it again today for a part of my Mandulorian armor piece. Still have the problem. then i did tried the one direction before watching the video. It worked a bit. Then I decided to watch your video on how to work the dremel and see if i was doing it correctly. It is fun to have the tool. I will for sure try other tips on the scrap foams I have. Thank you so much for the Battastic videos. Комментарий от : @donaldlokken1955 |
Hi!! FIRST I love you art!!! U are amazing!!! But I have a question: can I use a Dremmel with foam clay??? Thanks a lot!! Комментарий от : @TheIsabel89 |

I'm new to this channel, my mother bought me your books and I never knew you also had a youtube channel. I am going to be completely honest- you sound exactly like how I thought you would in your book, and I just???I love it??? It inspires me and brightens my day hearing it. I already know I'm going to love this chennel. Комментарий от : @obissyanna |

A BIG thank you to you and Benny. I appreciate all the content you provide. :) Комментарий от : @rivitheadlab2523 |
Svetlana, you point out safety with sanding the foam but you MUST also be very careful when trimming your corgi's toenails. Scientific studies have shown that the dust from grinding nails (the organic type; human, dog, cat, Chewbaccas) creates a dust that is carcinogenic. That means, it can give you cancer! As your lungs are the first major organs to make contact with the 'nail-dust', so the most likely cancer would be lung cancer. You're such an energetic and enthusiastic person; I'd hate to think that something as seemingly harmless as dust from trimming your corgi's nails could potentially effect that energy. But even more importantly, that it could change your life in ways you never imagined. Sorry to be so dramatic, but I'm a chronic pain sufferer (over 35 years of constant pain throughout my body 24/7) due to a silly, easy to avoid accident.............. All the best. Will the attachment fit other brands of rotary tools besides dremels? Комментарий от : @arcticdefender9984 |
This video made me realize that my dremel has been spinning clockwise, while I am right handed and push against the rotation. Her's appears to be going counter-clockwise. Is there a way to do that or should I upgrade to the dremel 4000 series? I flipped mine around to copy her "go with the rotation" method and the line was so much better, but I either have to hold it upside down or with my left hand. Комментарий от : @WTFhowdIdie |
Love the energy of the video lol made it much more fun to watch. Thank you for this, it was very helpful :) Комментарий от : @omega3711 |
Hi Swetlana, have you ever dremeled your own finger accidentaly? Комментарий от : @PCLHH |
I’ve actually had better results from using the diamond bits :) you can get them super cheap from places like harbor freight :) Комментарий от : @Ligmabawwls |
How dangerous is the dust that stays in the air? Комментарий от : @Lissi-mt1cf |
Hi, could you please drop a link to where you bought that rubber sanding drum/sleeve? The one that you said was your favourite. I've been using the wider version of it but I'm curious to see if its any easier with the smaller diameter one you use. Thanks for the helpful video also. Комментарий от : @ij20man35 |
As a cosplayer and prop maker, i always get a little nervous when I glance at a dremel or sanding belt, while watching this video I keep saying to myself "DAMN THATS SMART!" and some of these techniques should be a no brainer but I had a hard time V I S U A L I S I N G my piece. I cant help but say thank you for giving some of the basics to creating your own cosplays and I hope i can be more confident when i tackle my next project! Комментарий от : @linkjones4897 |
How do you get the foam non-fuzzy? It seems to get fuzzier the more I sand and it makes my priming really bumpy :( Комментарий от : @tiff8683 |
HELP PLEASE .Hi. How do you keep the sanding drum on the rubber barrel shaft. All mine keep slipping off, and dont stay on. The sanding barrels are purchased with the rubber barrel, so the sizes should be spot on. No matter what barrels I buy with the sanding barrel, they slip and slide off. None I purchase, I've tried 6 sellers, everyone, spins down or off. Are you suppose to glue it the the rubber barrel? HELP PLEASE. Adie UK Комментарий от : @swwolf3640 |

Hey this video was made on my birthday Комментарий от : @HybridB0i |
I need to leave a comment here because of how helpful this was for me. I was smoothing an EVA sword blade with my dremel, and I would run it both ways over the blade leaving me with with a complete uneven surface. As soon as I watched this video and tried out this technique, which I was skeptical about, I was surprised to see how smooth the blade had become. Thank you very much for all your videos, and keep up with the wonderful job you guys do! Комментарий от : @johnneves1113 |
Hi Kamui, I have a question on different tool alternatives if we don’t have tools like dremels or even heat guns. So for heat guns can an alternative for it be a common hair dryer? Комментарий от : @VFenris6184 |

I'm having trouble finding the respirator. I need to buy a small multi-purpose one, but the only sizes I can find online and in store are large and medium. I am not sure if a small one would be too small, but I'm worried that the medium will ride up and move my safety goggles or just not cover my chin. Does anyone know what size she is using or have any two cents on the matter? Комментарий от : @Curlew |

I must ask.....would buying cut-resistent gloves (those used by cooks and bakers) be a good idea, to avoid cutting yourself when cutting FOAM with a cutter? They are used as safety appliances in kitchens, if they are comfortable to be worn when you'll cut FOAM, of course. Комментарий от : @crimsonitaliandragon5453 |
Where can I buy the same type of foam you use? Комментарий от : @priscilllon771 |

You need to get your husband to help you design and build a device similar to a router table and fence, which accommodates your Dremel and allows you to fix the angle the Dremel to get the correct bevels on your pieces consistently. Комментарий от : @dewexdewex |
