 | Watching this in Apr 2023. 2020 was definitely a scary time. Physically, I've survived 3 bouts of covid in the last 2+ years... the first being in Dec '20 before vaccines.  | What's heartbreaking is that Covid has taken so many people who wont ever be noticed in social media or the news because of how many people have died total. in my town there was a local burger joint and the owner's of the place were a husband and wife and they had taken so much loving care of that place, well sadly the husband who was the main owner, contracted Covid and died in December of 2020. He was a huge lover of Nascar specifically Dale Earnhardt and that burger joint has since then been closed and reopened to new owners but the amount of people who have died and the nonexistent light shown on them is heartbreaking so I'm dedicating this time that I took to write this post for all the people whos lives were lost due to this pandemic. | I genuinely appreciate and enjoy this show even if I’ve only watched it on YouTube, John Oliver I hope you your family are doing well I thank you your staff for your work on so many issues. Especially this pandemic I hope your staff and their families are doing well too this pandemic is still a reality and it’s been exhausting but I’m glad this show is still around it’s helped me as I’m sure it’s helped many others.  | In regards to John’s little 30 seconds of rage at the end, it’s funny. I got laid off three days after this aired. I was unemployed for over a year. I was very diligent about staying home, social distancing, wearing masks, getting vaccinated as soon as I could, and generally trying to be a responsible citizen. I did put my life on hold, and I actually wasn’t all that upset about it at the time. Yeah it sucked but let’s all get through it together. As time has gone on though, I’ve gotten angrier and angrier. At the Anti mask/vax/science crowd. At all the changes that have happened to our lives and our economy.
