 | I am from Germany and I think in 2003 a german television network started to air german dubbed Bollywood Movies. My Grandma fell in love with Bollywood movies. And since then we still watch them together. When we watched them I tried to sing and dance along. These are some of my favourite childhood memories.  | It's been playing for 24 years because India is obsessed with love while completely against it. The submission of a girl for CULTURE, the balidaan of a father. Wow. While in real life many educated women can't choose their partners out of their own caste forget religion. Things are changing, but the mania of love hasn't change in India. While people completely adore this, as its fictional. In real world 22 year old graduate girl going alone for trip abroad, first of she doesn't have a job parents won't allow. If ultra uber rich modern people allow them, so that's no single trip all itenary is booked with their Prada's and Gucci's. And in a real world a non working boy would never catch attention of an INDIAN girl. So it's nice to fantasize about running and getting love. But after running away show the philandering way of man. He has literally shown to stalk, Harrods and make misogynistic and sexist attitude. And even in this day and age of feminism women go GA GA for him. In reality as soon as his incompetent as gets to work and he can't hold a job. Love flies out. And Indian want to escape that thought so it's been playing.
